NOW: NO Weapons, NO War
About NOW: NO Weapons, NO War
This group, a result of combining in the spring of 2009 the original Disarmament Working and the War Awareness Working Groups, works with both the religious and secular communities through education and mobilization to promote disarmament both for the U.S. and world wide in the area of nuclear weapons and other weapons, especially those of indiscriminate destruction. We are also working towards promoting peace in any country where the U.S. is militarily engaged and this has included the abolition of torture. We hope to promote economic conversion, human rights and support the development of a culture of peace.
Venues have included: Hiroshima/Nagasaki commemorations, dinner/dessert and a movie events, public forums and movie showings, prayer and other vigils, a press conference, etc.
NOW meets every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month at First Memorial Church, 730 Tappan, in Ann Arbor. Please call ICPJ in advance to ensure we are meeting at the usual date, time and place.
