Tell the County Commission Not to Cut the Safety Net

As more and more people face jobs loss, foreclosure, and hunger, the Washtenaw County Commission is considering eliminating funding to food banks, homeless shelters, programs for kids and for seniors when these services are needed most.

Tell the County Commission: NO Cuts to the Safety Net

There are three ways you can help:

  1. Come to the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners meeting on Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at 220 N. Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor. The Commissioners will be discussing human services funding at their Ways and Means meeting, and they need to hear from people who support continued funding. We have some talking points you can use, as well as suggestions for how to tell your story.
  2. Email your County Commissioner. Tell them why you don’t want the budget to be balanced on the backs of the most vulnerable in our community. You can look up your Commissioner on the list of County Commissioners or on the interactive map.
  3. Tell your friends: Forward this action alert to others. Post it to Facebook. Tweet it. Spread the word.
