New Hope in El Salvador
Mauricio Funes, of the FMLN party, is now the president of El Salvador. The former guerrilla organization has transformed itself into an effective political party that has won the presidency of the nation!
Mary Anne Perrone will give a first-person account of an SOAW delegation to El Salvador in May, meeting with the FMLN party members, social organizations, unions, and victims of the government during civil war and beyond.
Sylvia Nolasco-Rivers, a native Salvadoran who came to the US as a refugee from war-torn El Salvador will give her perspective on this new era in her native country.
