100 Days Climate Change Action
During the first 100 days of the Obama administration, we have a unique window of opportunity to shape actions taken by the Administration and Congress to curb global warming and focus on a GREEN economic recovery.
Do you want an easy way to take coordinated action with local folks on these issues over the next 100 days?
Join ICPJ in making sure that President Obama and other officials hear that we want to see real change and a real commitment to action to stop global warming!
How You Can Help
Sign on as an Activist:
Activists commit to doing at least five actions (such as writing letters, making phone calls, sending emails) over the first 100 days and checking in with your “organizer” when you have taken an action. We’ll help you by offering you actions to choose from every ten days or so, and providing examples and templates and optional group lobbying visit that will make it easy and fun!
Sign on as an Organizer:
Organizers commit to being the point person for a group of 3-5 activists. You can recruit your friends, relatives or colleagues (or we’ll give you a list of activists). You’ll offer them support and encouragement, and check in with them as you take action together. You can also download the instructions for organizers.
ICPJ will offer you a variety of actions to choose from, designed by various national groups and will offer organizers the support they need in encouraging and their group of activists.
We’re hoping to get as many organizers as we can signed up by February 6th, so that we can start sending out actions on February 13th. Sign up with Melanie McDowell at ICPJ at (734) 255-6769, or at melmcd@umich.edu, or sign up online with the form below.
