Stand Up, Speak Out Against Poverty: October 17
What: Join the Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice, RESULTS, the United Nations Association and other community and campus groups to stand up against poverty.
When: Wednesday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Where: U.M. Diag
Why: To support the Millennium Development Goals to end poverty and promote equality.
Who: You will be joining a worldwide movement of people as they stand up and try to break the Guinness World Record for largest global mobilization. Locally, the event is organized by Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice, RESULTS at UM, the Michigan Student Assembly Peace and Justice Commission, the Huron Valley United Nations Association, EMU UNA, and the Ann Arbor ONE Campaign.
What Else: There will be a pre-event poverty teach-in at 6:00 p.m. Here’s what’s on tap:
