Okay, I admit, I’m using a bad pun there. There will be a March for Peace, but this whole month is full of peace events–it is a March for Peace.
If you check out our events listing online, you’ll see what I mean.
You’ll also see why I’m going to need a lot of help to make this event a success! So here’s your chance to get involved. Here are some ways you can help make our March for Peace a success:
1. Get the word out: We’re helping organize a clergy and religious leaders viewing and discussion of the trailer for the upcoming movie: “Refusing to Be Enemies: The Zeitouna Story” on International Women’s Day. You can help us by making follow-up calls to personally invite clergy and religious leaders.
2. Art for Peace: We need a way to show the press and the world how the out-of-control Pentagon spending hurts schools, healthcare, and the environment. Can you help make that happen? If you have a vision for demonstrating the cost of war and a hankering to for a large-scale craft project, we want you on board!
3. Sponsor solicitation: We’re putting together an ad book for our annual meeting and Charlie King concert, and our concert committee would dearly love to have some help getting business sponsors for that event.
4. Publicity, Publicity, Publicity: With so many great events in one month, you can help make sure they come off well. You can help hang posters and hand out flyers. Most of all, you can tell your friends. Word of mouth marketing is very important–you can help create the buzz that will draw a crowd.
5. Database help: We can’t invite people to these events if we don’t know how to find them, and our backlog of database work is piling up. If you can come in for an hour or two to enter some names into the database, it will make a big difference!
Are any of these right for you? If so, call 734-663-1870 or email chuck@icpj.net. We’ll get you started working for peace! (And yes, there will be more opportunities as the month goes on.)
