ICPJ is Hiring a new Program Coordinator

Position: Program Coordinator, full time, may be filled by two part-time staff.
Responsibilities:
- Program coordination: Ensure effective implementation of ICPJ programs, including direct responsibility for specific program areas such as Racial and Economic Justice, Hunger, and Globalization. Specific tasks will include supporting committee meetings, helping organize events, generating advocacy opportunities, and providing skills training for program volunteers;
- Membership Coordination: Build relationships with members and volunteers to maintain and increase their engagement with ICPJ, such as working with the Director and volunteers to coordinate follow-up with new members, and provide volunteer and advocacy opportunities for existing members.
- Participate in fundraising efforts including making donor visits and helping with events;
- Represent ICPJ, speaking to religious congregations, university classes, ICPJ events and working in coalition with other groups;
- Work as a team with Director, shared responsibilities include office tasks, phone coverage, supervising volunteer, and helping out when and where help is needed;
- Work with Board of Directors to facilitate decision-making and communication
Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to peace and justice (either professional or volunteer). Experience working with diverse and/or interfaith communities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. College degree or equivalent experience. Ability to work in a flexible work environment and to balance multiple demands. The ideal candidate will be willing to make a three year commitment to the job and will have familiarity with nonprofit skills such as volunteer coordination and recruitment, being articulate, public relations & publicity, delegating, fundraising, public speaking, meeting facilitation, event planning.
Anticipated Start Date: Early January, 2008
Salary and Benefits: The position is a salaried position, starting at $30,000-$34,500 annually, depending on experience. Three weeks of vacation, increasing to 4 weeks after the first year, ten paid holidays, ten paid sick days. Flexible Scheduling. Health care stipend available.

Just as background, we did post this position recently and have been very satisfied with Stephanie Oswald’s performance. Unfortunately for us, Stephanie has found that being a 3/4 time organizer, 1/2 time student, and a mother of a 1-year-old daughter to be more than she can handle, so she is focusing on her daughter and her studies.
