Latin America: Suggested Reading
Many concerns face Latin America, and our objective is to advocate demilitarization and justice in U.S. policy. Our efforts emerge from a shared interest in Latin American issues, especially the movement to close the U.S. Army’s Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (formally the School of Americas).
Our interest also lies within the competing immigration reform bills in Congress, and with ensuring justice and the protection of human rights.
These recommended books present a path to understanding the complex issues many Latin Americans face as the result of poverty and U.S. policy in this region. Paradise in Ashes by Beatriz Manz
