Middle East “Imagine” results

On September 14, ICPJ convened a group of Jews, Palestinians, and others to “imagine” how we could organize an effective, interfaith program for Middle East Peace. The Imagine Process Final Report is now available, and you can read the Executive Summary of the report below:

Restated By-Laws, Fresh from the Lawyer

As part of our by-law review for our upcoming Membership Meeting, we’ve had a lawyer go through our by-laws to propose the proper changes.

He’s come through with a comprehensive set of re-stated by-laws (pdf) that we’ll go through at the membership meeting. Some of the changes are legal housekeeping — updating the language so that it is precise and some of the changes are the policy changes recommended by the Board (especially regarding membership and outreach). Run for Peace–becuase for peacemaking we need to be in it for the long haul

Peacemaking is not a quick thing. It is a marathon rather than a sprint.

To help learn those lessons, this year I’m running the Detroit Marathon on October 29 as a Run For Peace, a fundraiser for Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice.

After over forty years, ICPJ has shown that it is in the struggle for a just and peaceful world for the long haul. I hope that I show that much resilience after over forty kilometers.

Disarmament Movie Showing: Helen’s War

This Friday the Disarmament Working Group will be doing a pre-screening of the film “Helen’s War,” which deals with the work of Dr. Helen Caldicott to promote Nuclear Disarmament.
