Summer Peace and Justice Internships
Sharpen your skills as an activist while working for peace with justice as a summer intern with the Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice. Part-time internships are available for undergraduate and students, with the opportunity to learn skills in event organizing, media outreach, lobbying, and nonprofit administration. Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice works justice-minded with people of faith and secular peacemakers to educate and mobilize to build a better world. Philosophy: At ICPJ, we seek to tailor our internships to the student so that the experience builds on the intern’s strengths and interests while also strengthening the work of the Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice.
Location: Interns will work at the ICPJ offices at 730 Tappan, Ann Arbor, in the basement of Memorial Christin Church
Time Commitment: Interns can serve from 8 to 32 hours per week.
Necessary Experience: The ideal candidate will have experience in community organizing, event planning, or community service projects.
Duties: Intern time will be divided between program and administrative work. Program work my involve such tasks as writing press releases, publicizing events, promoting workshops and presentations, public speaking, writing for the ICPJ newsletter, or lobbying. Administrative work will include database administration, help with mailings, library management, etc.
Faith and Interfaith: Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice members include people from a wide variety of spiritual backgrounds, including secular people of conscience who have faith that a better world is possible. Therefore, interns must be comfortable working with people from a variety of religious backgrounds.
Compensation: Unfortunately, ICPJ cannot offer a stipend for this internship.
